Google is partnering with the New York Times and the Washington Post, the leading Newspapers in the USA. The news industry is struggling, and this partnership aims to contribute to a new form of news in the online environment. The model being used aligns with Google's model of ranking web content highly based on how recent the activity was, as well as how relevant the content is to keyword searches on the search engine. The additional benefit is that users will be able to follow the evolution of news stories. This project is called Living Stories and it debuted on Tuesday 8 December 20009 on the Google labs website.
